Need ideas how i could improve the notifications

Good evening everyone,

I've been working on a drop-down feature for the past few days, and while it meets all my functional requirements, I've encountered an issue with the appearance of the notification number (highlighted as "1" in the screenshot below). Unfortunately, it appears somewhat unpolished and lacks the professionalism I'm aiming for.

I've considered adjusting the font and color, but the result still feels untidy and unprofessional. At this point, I'm feeling a bit stuck and unsure if I've exhausted all possible solutions or if I'm simply experiencing a mental block.

To keep things brief, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve the visual presentation to make it look cleaner and more professional?
